Translating the practical way
With this short guideline we would like to give you a few practical tips regarding translating, so that you get a first class translation performance at the first time of asking.
Our translators and proofreaders do very good work, but they will do even better work if they receive detailed instructions and material from you in advance.
Preparation of the translation
Compile a list of key data and requirements for the translation team. Language combinations, preferred date for the completion of the translation, scope of order and services. Inform us about the file format of the texts to be translated as well as any layout specifications to be observed.
The type of text is also important – is it a press release, an operating manual or conference documentation? What is essential is that the translators know the intended readership or target group and the purpose of the text before starting the translation – e.g. English or international market.
Your company terminology will, of course, be integrated into the translation if required. This should be made available to the translators in advance.
Professional translators for the highest quality
You can take for granted that a qualified translator with a university degree, state qualification and many years professional experience has an excellent knowledge of the source language and is a native speaker of the target language. Knowledge of the cultural and linguistic conventions of the respective countries and a quick understanding of the various technical backgrounds should also be a matter of course.
Feedback
Good communication with the translation agency is immensely important for ensuring the quality of our service.
That means, for example, that you provide the translation agency with detailed information before the work begins. We also depend on your feedback.
Please mention any problems that may arise in good time and express constructive criticism, so that we can eliminate errors together and any misunderstandings are cleared up.
We look forward to translating for you!
